ENGINEER'S REPORT.

Tiio following is the Engineer's report :—1 have fc'no honour to submit my report on the progress of works for the month of November.

Quarry—The output for the month has been 17cG tons, a decrease of 224 tons below last month owing to the punt? being engaged taking hardwood from tho "Alexa," and a slight mishap to 0110 of the punts through one of the slings breaking and dropping a stone on to the punt. All the plant and quarry is in good working order. South Mole.—The staging lias been extended a further length of 200 ft. making a 1000 ft to date. The sand continues to make up behind the work. 746 tons of rubble were deposited.

North M01e.—960 tons of rubble wore dc-po.-ited. Tho Avail is now avc)l up above L.W.L. for its entire length of 930 f*et. .

Wanganm Wharf.—Th e original contract ior 500 it. is now completed and the further extension of 12oft is well on toward completirn. It is expect eel that the whole work will be finished in two weeks from date.

Casfclediff Wharf.—There only remains the finishing off of a portion of tho superstructure. All piling stud sheeting having been completed. The work will be finished in ab:>ut two weeks from date.

Dredoing:.—Dunne! the lr.ionth 'tho (irod"'& ■ has completed the berth-.i.":" ].50ft. wide along the SJOOi't. of tho <■::! wliarf and is now cngay^d /iimhiiu!; along the new wharf. whii:h should he finished according t:> the Dredgemastor's estimate, in about six weeks. Ed from the Green Light to the bar to-day, and was found to be practically the same as reported last mouth, with the exception that there is an improvement in depth of six inches in the channel between the internal wall and the S. Mole jetty.
