DEPUTATION TO THE PREMIER AND MINISTER.

WELLINGTON, December G. Yesterday the Hon. A. R. Guinnesswas asked by Mr O'Regan, solicitor to the Miners' ' Federation, if he could, arrange for a deputation, representing, the executive of the Miners' Federation, to wait on the Prime Minister and the Hon. 11. McKenzie. In reply to his representations, Mr Guinnesswas informed by the Prime Minister" that he would give a reply after the Cabinet had considered the requestWhen the sitting of the Cabinet wascondluded Sir Joseph informed Mr Guinness that if the executive of the federation would put into writing the subject upon which they wished to interview himself and the Hon. R. McKenzie he would inform them whetherthe deputation could be received. Itis understood that the executive have not yet complied with the request. The Hon. R. McKenzie (Minister for Public Work's) informed your representative yesterday that as both the Prime Minister and himself were exceedingly busy, they were unable to meet the executive to-day.
