CABLE RATES.
MELBOURNE, December 11
The Government has instructed Mr Coghlan, of the Press Pacific Cable Board, to introduce a deferred cable rate under which messages dtelayed until the ordinary business has been cleared may be sent at the rate of Is 6d per code word and one shilling for an ordinary word.
Sir Jossph Ward has intimated that he has directed the High Commissioner to support the scheme.
