CHRISTCHURCH, December 12.
The Christchurch Racing Club's summer meeting opened to-day at Plumpton in fine weather. The attendance was fair, and the totalisator investments amounted to £3,743 3s lOd, as against £3,826 last year. Fifteen bookmakers were licensed at fifteen guineas each. Results:—•
Nursery Handicap.—Martyre 1, Saxifrage 2. Puaha 3. Also started: King Qama, Little Simon, Kilmeny, and Perm. Won easily by four lengths. Time, 49sec.
Maiden Plate. —Genius 1, Aunt Sally 2. Aisy 3. Also started: Gold Seeker, Newlands, Nightlight, Sapience, and Castilla. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin. 31 4-ssec.
Dominion Handicap.—Prim 1, Gwendolina 2, Field Gun 3. Also started : King Post, Tikiterc, White Cockade, nnd Federal. Won comfortably by a length. Time, 2min. B|sec. Springston Welter. —Obligate 1, Gold Braid 2. Only starters. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin. 49 l-ssec. Hornby Handicap.—Arc Light 1, Miss Florrie 2, Hamlin 3. Flying Handicap.—Federal 1, Silkweb 2, Ilarita 3. Also started: The Seer. Won by a length. Time, Imin. 15sec.
Middleton Hack Handicap.—Wet Day 1, Naurangarie 2, Montreal 3. Also .started: Belletin, Sant, Rosaley, Aisy, and Shillelagh. Won easily by half a length. Time, Imin. 58 4-ssec. Avon Handicap.—Passion 1, Zetland 2, Monkey Puzzle 3. Also started: [Boutarde, De Witte, Grand Slam, and Loyola. Won by a length. Time, Imin I 30sec
