A CHEERING OUTLOOK

Herr Holhveg (German Chancellor), speaking in tho Reichstag, said he fully and sincerely agreed with Mr Asquith's remarks as regards tha object of wisest statesmanship. He felt sure that the interests of both, countries could be better served, and would be more free and straightforward. This attitude was expressed in the negotiations between the two Empires.
At the Guildhall Banquet in London on the King's Birthday Mr i\squith, referring to Germany, said he was unaware of anything which need stand in the way of the full and friendly understanding which he believed was tiie cherished object of the wisest statesmanship, and which the best moral and social forces of both countries should promote. Mr Asquith's statement was received with cheers."
