SOME STRONG CRITICISMS.
Received December 13, 11.35 p.m. LONDON, De-embo- 13. Major Seel}*, speaking at Tiverton, and discussing the details of their formation and election, argued that there
was n. great difference between the Second Chambers in New Zealand, Canada, and Australia and the House of
Lords. Lord Portsmouth, in a letter, says he cannot support tho pandering, snobbery, and jobbery which maintained the Lords os a living corpse in a gilded cage. Tt is fraud. The nation is relying on a Second Chamber which is a .s^iam. "^1 i-hould prefer to abolish it and elect a Ssnat-?."
