Jack Johnson and James J. Preliminary discussion was scheduled fo-.- 3 o'clock at the Hotel Albany. Jeffries and his manager were punctual to tii-» minute, but Johnson c-Ibo-wed his way diffidently through the crowd ten minutes late. At the table, as the men took their places, sat Jeffries with Bob Vernon at his left and Sam Berger, his manager, at his right; George Little, [Jchnson's manager; Johnson, George Considine, "Honest" John Kelly, Sam Harris, Sam Nelson, Bob Murphy, and j other well-known sporting men.
