THE FEDERAL HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP.
SIR G. H. REID'S APPOINTMENT
EULOGISED
(Uhitsd Tress Association —Copyright.)
Received December 19, 5.5 p.m
The " Financial News'" says that Sir G. H. 'Reid's appointment will not be considered exceptionable on this side. It means that the Commonwealth's first representative has been chosen from the front, ranks of''Australian statesmen, and the selection is a compliment to the mother State, which sacrificed a good deal to make federation possible. Sir George Reid may count on receiving a hearty welcome'in London.
