AMUSEMENTS.
There was a good attendance at the Opera House last evening, when the Garrison Band, under Conductor Wade, gave an enjoyable concert. The programme rendered included such gems a? the- " Poet and Peasant" Overture, " Un Ballo in Maschera " selection, and the chorus " Worthy is the Lamb and Amen." Lieutenant Buckley gave' a cornet solo, " The Violin Player," and Bandsman Hickman played " Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind." Both players were in good form, and gave a pleasing interpretation of.their respective pieces.. The band's playing last evening was, on the whole, very good, though through various other engagements lately the band was unable to get the rehearsals which is so necessary to obtain the best results. The combination is now a very strong one, and will commence the rehearsal of the test selections this evening. On Christmas Day the band will visit different localities \n the town and suburbs, commencing at 9 a.m., and finishing about 7 f).m. Time and places will be notified ater on.
