PERSONAL.
We Congratulate Mr Balance Willis (the youngest son of the late A. D. Willis, Esq.) who has been successful in passing his final in the Law Examination recently held in Wellington. Sergeant-Major W. Burr, of Napier, formerly of Wanganui, is at present on a visit to Wanganui and is staying at Chavannes’ Hotel.
At the conclusion of the Agricultural Association’s meeting last evening, the President (Mr R. Russell) on behalf of the Committee, presented Mr J. T. Sinclair with a gold-mounted tobacco pouch and a smoker’s outfit. In malking the presentation the chairman said he hoped Mr Sinclair would accept this small present in the spirit in which it was given — as a token of good fellowship. They could not help admiring the way in which Mr Sinclair every year put his shoulder to the wheel when the show came round. He did not do one man’s work, but several men’s work, and they trusted that he would be spared many years to enjoy the pipe of peace. Mr Sinclair suitably replied.
