The following: is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: —A cyclonic disturbance passed off the East Cap-> on Sunday, and a minimum of "?9.20 inches was recorded on the s.s. Monowai at sea. This followed a small westerly, in the south, and in the rear of both disturbances, with the rising barometer, was a very heavy southerly gale, which raged in the North and East coasts on Saturday and Sunday. The present indications ape for an extensive westerly area of low pressure, bringing high westerly winds and unsettled weather. The southerlies now prevailing will back shortly for a further fall in the South. The change is now due on Thursday evening.
