Two battleships, building by contract, included this year's programme, have been named Hercules and Colossus. The name Orion, given to the battleship building at Portsmouth, was introduced to the navy list in 1857. The Orion armoured cruiser, building at Davenport is the fifteenth ship of that name. Other new cruisers have been named the Falmontli, Dartmouth, Weymouth, and Yarmouth. The names of the four contingent Dreadnoughts are to be—Conq'ierer, Monarch, Princess Royal, and Thunderer.
