A CHRISTMAS EVE BRAWL

DUNEDIN, December 27. As a result of the Christmas Eve brawl, throe young men appeared at the Police Court. The scene was described by the police as most disgraceful. Arthur Franklyn, charged with threatening behaviour, obscene language, and resisting the police, was fined £7 on two charges, and received two months for obscene language. Albert James Goding, threatening behavious, obscene language, and resisting the police, was fined in the aggregate £10, ordered to pay damage done to a deteotivo's clothing, and received two months for obscene language. William Simpson, for assaulting the police, received ono month; for obscene language, three months; for resisting the police £5, and for damaging; a constable's uniform was fined 40s nnd ordered to pay the damage.
