AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY v WANGANUI CLUB.
A match was commenced yesterday forenoon, between the above teams. The local men batted first and compiled 105 (H. B. Cave 29. MoDonagh 18, C. Holland 24, Haworth 16) were the chief scorers. The Aucklandei's then took strike, and before Pomery and Shepherd wore separated they had put 159 on the board. Both batsmen played fine frea cricket, for their respective scores, and quite collared the local bowling. Rowe (not out 53) and Rountree (not out 16) followed and played out time. The game will be resumed this morning at 9.30 a.m., and stumps will be drawn at 12 noon.
