PERSONAL.

Rev. R. S. Gray, pastor of Hanover St. Baptist Church (Dunedin) for the last six years, has resigned ij. order to assume the position of Dominion organiser for the Prohibition campaign. This step has been taken at the request of the New Zealand Alliance and Efficiency League. The Rev. Knowles Kempton, of Auckland T"bernacle, succeed: Mr. Gray.

Mr and Mrs James L. Hay return to-day by the Rimutaka. Mr Hay was the pioneer JNew Zealand Y.M.C.A. secretary, leaving New Zealand with the Fourth Reinforcement by the Willochra in April. J 915. He organised the V.M.C.A. work in the Esbekia Gardens. Cairo, where he made a host of friends. When the New Zealand troops left Egypt for France, Mr Hay was transferred to the division, where he was organising secretary in charge of the whole of the Nev/ Zealand work with the division in France until December last, when he was transferred to London as supervising secretary. Mr Hay's many friends will be delighted to hear of hi a return. Mrs way will be better remembered by soldiers as Sister Gunn, of the Brockenhurst Hospital. After a brief holiday, Mr Hay will assume control of the Wellington branch of the V.M.C.A.
