THE GRAND.

"THE SEAL OF 13ILENCE" AND

"THE HOUSE OF HATE."

An unusual complication occurs in the Vitagraph drama, "The Seal of Silence," to be screened at The Grand to-night, with Grace Darmond and Earle Williams in the lead. The plot centres round a frivolous wife who. to be revenged on her husband, leaves him and never reveals the fact that she has made him the father of a son. Her death follows and the doctor's female assistant, who has been a friend of his wife, and who .had sworn to keep the secret of the child's existence, is eventually c mpellcd to take care of the child and brings it to the doctor's residence, where she resides. As she offers no explanation it is not surprising that the doctor forms a wrong conclusion regarding the child, but, notwithstanding his suspicions, he cannot help loving the girl. However, his study of heredity reveals to him eventually that he must be the father of the boy and with the girls character cleared the way is open for them to follow the mutual dictates of their hearts. The plot provides a lot of highly dramatic movements and the. story moves at a rapid pace. The settings are finely done. A chapter of "The House of Hate," a Graphic, and a picture showing the return of the Main Body boys by the Hororata are also showing.
