Fire Brigade Hall yesterday afternoon, when Mr Guy Cooper, acting for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., submitted the sub-divided blocks of the woll-knoiwn Featherston Estate to auction' on behalf of the vendor, Mr W. A. D'Arcy. Tho homestead block of 140 acres was the first submitted, and after brisk bidding the right of ownership passed to Mr W. A. Bason at £83 per acre. The other five farms, ranging in area from 51 to 62 j acres, failed to reach the reserves, and were passed in respectively at £45, £47 10s., £48, £54, and £57. We understand that after the auction considerably increased prices were offered for several of the sections.
