MOUNTAINS OF LOOT.

Fifty thousand tons of loot left behind by the Germans nen they were driven back towards the Rhine has been stored in barges in ~cigium. It includes thousands of pianos, clocks, carpets, pictures, and furniture of all descriptions, which the Germans had pillaged from the occupied regions of France and Belgium. Its disposal has been undertaken by the Surplus Government Disposal Board, who have not yet decided whether any shall be brought to England for sale. The difficulty of returning it to its rightful owners will be overcome by compensation.
