NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW

Advices from Palmerston North give a very strong indication of a very successful show, commencing on June 17 and closing on Saturday, June 21. The extra day scheduled this year will be an innovation that will appeal to many who would otherwise be barred from visiting this most popular exhibition. There are many new events provided to keep up the interest of the visitors, as apart from the general exhibits, for instance, there will be football matches or four afternoons, horse leaping competitions on two afternoons, and a physical drill display prior to the football match on Saturday afternoon. Evening entertainments are scheduled, including a band concert, wrestling bouts, Scottish and Irish dancing, school choir singing, and tug-of-war. For this purpose No. 3 Hall has been set aside. The poultry section will be staged in the horse pavilion, and from entries received will be a record show for New Zealand. All space is booked, stall-hold-ers are at work, bumper entries have been received, and apparently nothing now remains to indicate that the twenty-second annual National Dairy Show will be anything but a grand success and a credit to its promoters.
