ESSAY COMPETITION.

(To the Editor). Sir,—An essay competition was advertised in your journal last year, stating that essays were to be sent in by October 31 of last year. This competition was open to children under 16. Mr Jas. Aitken, 8.A., was judge. Results were published in your paper on December 19, 1923.'* So far as I am aware none of the prize-winners has as yet received a prize. My child has not, and I am told that the first prize winner has not received hers. In the absence of any explanation on the part of the authorities controlling the competition as to the delay, one would feel disposed to make strong comment. The best explanation would be proxppt payment.—I am, etc., PARENT.
