ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
INQUEST. CHRISTCHURCH, June 10. At the inquest on Thomas Maude, the medical evidence was that death was due to heart failure during anaesthesia, following upon appendicitis and peuitonitis. If an operation had not taken place, Maude would have died from acute peuitonitis. The coroner returned a formal verdict in accordance with the medical evidence SUPPOSED SUICIDE. - TIMARU. June 10. Michael P. Angland, 35 years, married, with three crildren, died to-day under circumstances pointing to suicide. Deceased left a letter expressing his intention to do away with himself. Some strychnine was found in one of his pockets.
