CONCERNING diamond ring. I Per Press Association. 1 CHRISTCHURCH. May 31. Before the magistrate (Mr. Mosley) Thomas Hornsby, a jeweller, was charged with receiving on May 28 from Ronald Dempsey Crook a lady’s diamond ring valued at £3O, the property of Henrietta Murphy, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained. The police said that accused, who was well-known in the city, had been in Court before in connection with offences against the Second-hand Dealers’ Act, and urged that bail be subAccused was remanded to June 7 in bail of £2OO and one surety of £2OO. The case is the sequel to the alleged robbery of Colonel Murphy’s house at Vcndu'ton.
