TRINITY DIAMOND JUBILEE
THE WEEK’S PROGRAMME. At an enthusiastic meeting of the committee making arrangements for the fitting celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Trinity Afethodist Church, presided over by the Rev. R. Dudley, excellent progress was reported, and the following programme for the week, June 10 to 17, was definitely decided upon:— Sunday Services, June 10-—ll a.m., Rev. John Paterson, ALA.; 3 p.m., address to young people, the Mayor (Air. N. G- Armstrong); 7 p-rn., Rev. R. Dudley. Afonday.—Trinity Young Men> Institute and Afethodist Alan’s Club, 8 p.m. Afen only. Tuesday.—Alendelssohn evening and special item by choir and friendsWednesday.—Combined prayer and fellowship meeting, 7.30 p.m. Thursday.—Jubilee banquet, Harman’s Hall, 6.30 p.m. Saturday.—2-30 p.m., old members’ reunion. 8 p.m., young people’s concert. Sunday, June 17.—11 a.m-, Rev. E. T. Cox, Af.A.; 7 p.m. (Regent Theatre), Lev. E. T- CoxIt was mentioned that the Queen Alexandra Band would assist at the evening service in the Regent Theatre; that old T.Y.ALI.’s were entering enthusiastically into 'the reunion movement, and that Afr. J. T. Hogan would be one of the speakers; that a playette, under the supervision of Mr- Paul Latham, would be one of the attractions at the young people’s concert; that some hundreds of addresses of old members of the Trinity Church had been secured, to whom circulars and invitations would be extended to attend the celebrations or send greetings. It was also reported that banquet tickets were available and an attendance of between three and founr hundred was confidently expected. The ladies of the congregation had the banoueting table preparations will in hand. Satisfaction was expressed at the nrepartaion of the bookl-et 'to be issued in connection with the Jubilee, which will contain a brief history of Methodism in Wanganui and the West Coast, as well as interesting details concerning Trinity Church. It is expected that quite a numlrer of old church members will be present at the reunion on Saturday afternoon who not only witnessed the erection of Trinity Church, but attended tire services in the old chapel in Ridgway Street. -
