Mr- H. Cleland, stock inspector, wh has been stationed in Wanganui for th past 6J years, has received notice of hi appointment to the position of princi ‘ pal inspector for the Auckland district Mr. Gordon Bryan, who visited Ney Zealand in 1931, has been appointed b’ the Royal School of Music, London (As sociated Board) to act as examiner fo the practical examinations this year He will arrive in Wellington on Jub 4, and will reach the various centres a about the same dates as last year’: examiner. Mr. Duncan Mackintosh was re elected chairman of the Wanganu County Council yesterday, his nomina tion being moved by Cr.’ A. H. Collin: and seconded by Cr. D. McGregor. Cr Collins said that Mr. Mackintosh hac been a wise leader in a strenuou: period. Cr. McGregor said that th( period ahead would be more strenuou: still and the council needed a chair man who would be alert. Mr. Mackin tosh felt pleased to think that he hac the confidence of the council in worl which he had taken up from splendic chairmen of the past. “I can assure you that I will do the best I can fo: the ratepayers as a whole,” ho said
