WELLINGTON AND WAIRARAPA MILITIA DISTRIOT ORDERS: Militia and Volunteer Orderly Room, Wellington, February 8, 1865. 3 IT having been brought to my notice that • there are several men residing in the above distriots, who are liable to serve in the Militia, and who have not enrolled their names, the undermentioned extracts from the " Militia Act Amendment Act," for 1860, are published for general information, viz . — •• Each Battalion or Company shall bo divided Into three classes: — the First Class shall consist of all unmarried mon and all widowers without children, between the ayes of 16 years and 40 years, both inclusive, who shall he called First Class Service Men ; the Second Clasa shall conHtstof all married men aud widowers with children, between the same ages, who shall be called Second Olass Service Men; and the Third Class shall consist of all men between the ages of 40 years and 35 years, who shall bo called the Reserve Men. " The Senior Officer of overy Battalion or Company or any other commissioned officer appointed hy him, shall enrol all the men liable to serve therein, and any man who shall not withiu three ; months after his becoming liable to serve, [give in his name, age, and place of residence, to such officer in order to be enrolled, shall forfeit any sum not exceeding £5." 4, I hereby give notice that if any man in tha above districts liable to serve in the Militia, whether for the Ist, 2nd, or Reserve Classes, who shall omit to enrol his name within seven days after tlie publication of this order will be summoned in accordance with the Act. o.
