Ordered, " That a return be laid boforo this House showing, under distinct headings, the respective amounts contributed by each provincial district to the colonial rovonuo from Customs, stamps, land, property-tax, beer-tax, and territorial revenue, for the financial year ending 31st March, 1884." (In continuation of a similar return for 1881, 1882, and 1883.)— Mr. Macandrew.

They do not represent the contributions of the respective dii tricts to the revenue, because duty-paid goods are largely exported from one district to another for consumption, the foreign import trade of the colony being practically centered in the four principE ports, of which the chief one is in the Provincial District of Otago.
