Captain Faikchild, s.s. "Hineinoa," to the Secretary, Marino Department. Sin,— Kaipara, 17th June, 1889. As directed by you, I made a rough survey of entrance to Whangape Harbour. I find the whole of the soundings have decreased fully 3ft. since the survey of 1874; otherwise the chart is still correct.
