GOVERNMENT POULTRY DEPARTMENT (COST AND REVENUE OF THE) SINCE ITS CREATION.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 24th July, 1903. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return giving the total cost of the Poultry Department for each year since the Department has been created ; also, at the same time, what revenue has been recovered from that Department."—(Mr. McLachlan.)

Department of Agriculture. Eetubn giving the Total Cost of the Poultey Department for each Year since the Department has been created, also the Amount of Eevenue. The expenditure includes the salary and travelling-expenses of expert; the purchase of appliances, stock, food, &c, cost of buildings, and labour at poultry stations; the wages of Graders and pluckers, cost of packing, freezing, crates, appliances, &c, in connection with export of poultry and eggs; and the purchase of land and building at Christchurch.
