ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 16th day op April, 1936. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters pertaining to agricultural and pastoral industries and stock which may be referred to it; with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee which may be appointed by the Legislative Council, and to agree to a joint or separate report: the Committee to consist of Mr. Barclay, Mr. C. H. Burnett, Mr. T. 1). Burnett, Mr. Coulter, Mr. Hunter, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Poison, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Williams, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. Lee Martin.) Friday, the 17th day op April, 1936. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1935 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session." —(Hon. Mr. Savage.)
REPORTS.
No. 215, 1935. —Petition of D. A. Fitzgerald, of Shannon. Praying that he be reimbursed for expenses incurred in seeking registration as a dairyfactory manager. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 7th October, 1936.
No. 200. —Petition of A. R. McDowell, of Palmerston North. Praying that, notwithstanding the Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1926, he be permitted to use the designation " Veterinary Practitioner " in his business. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 13th October, 1936.
No. 154, 1935.-—Petition of H. Zimmerman, of Kopaki. Praying for compensation in respect of alleged misrepresentation in purchasing a stud Jersey bull. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 13th October, 1936. :

No. 274.—Petition of J. Nicholson and Another, of Taranaki. Praying for compensation for enforced sale of land and destruction of stock following an outbreak of Johne's disease. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. B. Roberts, Chairman. 22nd October, 1936.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Agricultural and Pastoral Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the efficient and impartial manner in which the Chairman, Mr. Roberts, has conducted the business of the Committee during the present session; and further desires that a resolution to this effect be recorded in the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House. T. D. Burnett, a Member of the Committee. 29th October, 1936.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Agricultural and Pastoral Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the services rendered by the Clerk of the Committee, Mr. E. B. Harman, and further desires this resolution to be recorded in the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House. 29t.h October, 1936.
Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Agricultural and Pastoral Committee, consisting of ten members, has held five meetings during the session, and the average attendance of members has been seven. Four petitions were referred to the Committee and reported on to the House. J. 6. Barclay, for Chairman. 29th October, 1936.
