In compliance with the terms of the 36th section of " The Financial Arrangements Act, 1876," I have the honor to tender my resignation of the office I now hold as Executive Officer, together with all profits and advantages derived therefrom. In doing so, I beg leave to say that I shall be happy to continue to give every assistance in my power to the Government, should they desire it, without receiving any salary or emolument whatever. I have the honor to enclose herewith a letter addressed by me to His Excellency, in which I tender to him my resignation of the offices held by me from him to the present time.
