In reply to your Circular No. 66, I have the honor, by direction of the School Commissioners for this district, to refer you to my letters of 23rd December, 1879, and 24th February, 1881, and to inform you that in respect of their administration of "The Education Reserves Act, 1877," the Commissioners have nothing additional to report for the information of the Government and the General Assembly of New Zealand. The Commissioners, at the same time, desire me to state that they would like to see some modification of section 14 of " The Education Reserves Act, 1877," as the operation of that section greatly impedes the letting of reserves.
