1881. NEW ZEALAND.
CHANGE OF PURPOSE OF RESERVES (PAPERS RELATIVE TO).
Presented to both Souses of the General Assembly in pursuance of " The Public Beserves Act Amendment Act, 1878."
[Vide Gazettes Nos. 102, 103, 106, 109, 1880.] James Pbetstdebgast, Administrator of the Government. Wh.beas by "The Public Eeserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Part 11. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-lour of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Part 11., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made : Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Administrator of the Government thereof, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Eeserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," aforesaid, change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the said Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule, and such land shall henceforth be deemed to be reserved and set apart for such last-mentioned specific purpose, and no other.
SCHEDULE.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty. Wm. Eolleston, Minister of Lands.
[Vide Gazettes Nos. 6, 9, 12, 14, 1881.] General Crown Lands Office, Wellington, 25th January, 1881. It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor intends, under the provisions of section 148 of " The Land Act, 1877," to change the specific purpose of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto for which the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as specified in the first -column of the said Schedule, to the specific purposes specified in the third column of the said Schedule. Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose. All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 37 perches, more or less, on the plan of the Waverley Town Belt, Okotuku District. Bounded towards the North by Subdivision No. 1 of the Waverley Town Belt, 897 links ; towards the East by Eural Section No. 88, Block VII., Wairoa Survey District, 500 links; towards the South by a Government reserve, 897 links; and towards the West by a public street, 500 links. Eeserve not defined. Site for a school.
