Feiday, 17th August, 1883. The Committee met pursuant to notice. Present .* Mr. Pyke (Chairman), Mr. J. Buchanan, Mr. Fulton, Major Harris, Mr. J. McKenzie, Mr. J. McMillan, Hon. Mr. Eolleston, Mr. Stevens, Mr. J. W. Thomson, Mr. W. White. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The report was then read and adopted. The Chairman was instructed to lay the following papers on the table of the House with the report, and to move that they be printed : Evidence of witnesses (vide evidence) ; agreement with Gellibrand and Co., with figures {vide Appendix A); reports from Eangers (vide Appendix C, 1 and 2); evidence taken by the Otago Waste Lands Board (vide Appendix B); auctioneer's report of sale (vide Appendix D). ' Besolved, That the Chairman be instructed to present the report to the House to-day. Besolved, That the Chairman be instructed to give notice that on Tuesday next he will move the adoption of the report in the House. The Committee then adjourned sine die.
