No. 250, Sess. ll.—Petition of Hare Reweti Rongorongo. Petitioner states that certain land called Poutu was given to him by Sir Donald McLean in 1873, and that the Government have now taken it and given it to others. He prays for redress. _He also says that his people sold Ohinepuhiawe, and were paid £500 for it, but that at the same time, after they had received the money, they were told that the sale was illegal owing to a certain clause in the Crown grant. He prays for relief. Report and date the same as No. 16.
