has been collected, £87 13s. Bd. has been written off as unrecoverable on an unsatisfied judgment of the Courts, and £149 11s. 4d. is still outstanding. The defaulters are chiefly in the Gisborne District, where tenants have possibly undertaken to pay too much for their farms.
