SCHEDULE 11. Copy of amendment of rules adopted by the Fountain of Friendship Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F.:— After such valuation is made, and the valuer finds that the lodge has a surplus, and that such surplus, or portion of such surplus, can with safety be made or transferred, then such sum as may be recommended shall be divided among the members in the following manner; and, in accordance with clauses 1, 2, and 3, each member in the lodge at the date on which the valuation is made up to shall receive,— 1 share for 1 year or portion of 1 year and under 5 years of membership. 2 years for.. 5 years „ 10 „ 3 „ 10 „ „ 15 „ 4 „ 15 ~ . 20 5 „ 20 „ „ 25 6 „ 25 „ „ 30 7 „ 30 „ „ 35 „ 8 „ 35 „ „ 40 9 „ 40 , „ 45 10 „ 45 „ „ 50 A book shall be prepared and kept by the secretary for the purpose of showing what sum each member is entitled to, which sums are to be credited with interest added at the rate of 4 per cent., and may be taken out in one of the following ways : —■ 1. In the event of any member who has any surplus standing in his name being unable, through old age or adversity, to pay his contributions, then such surplus may be taken out to keep him good upon the books ; and, further, the lodge officers shall not, whilst any portion of his surplus remains, allow him to go bad upon the books of the lodge. 2. Any member falling sick, and his sickness being continued for such a length of time as to impoverish him, may be allowed out of his surplus to receive such sum per week to assist him as a general meeting of the lodge may decide. 3. In the event of any member dying leaving a surplus standing to his credit, such surplus shall be taken out and given to the person he nominates, or to his relatives, as a supplementary funeral donation. 4. Any member requiring assistance under clauses 1 and 2 shall make application either verbally or in writing, and the lodge shall have power to authorize its lodge officers to pay him such sum out of his surplus as the members, after considering his case, may decide. 5. In the event of any member having a surplus leaving the lodge by clearance or arrears, he shall forfeit his claim to such surplus, which shall be taken out and paid into the Sick and Funeral Fund Account.
