In accordance with the request contained in your letter 86/1544, No. 22, dated the 15th ultimo, I have the honour to transmit a return showing the estimated annual production of gold and silver in Victoria, from the earliest record obtainable to the 31st December, 1884. This return has been prepared from the figures kindly furnished to this branch of Her Majesty's Mint by the Department of Mines and Water-supply, Melbourne. I have, &c, .
