The increase in 1886 was—letters 629, post-cards 863, books and parcels 6-18, and newspapers 0-63 per cent. The average number of letters posted by each person was estimated to be 29 -31. The cash revenue for the financial year was £207,954 19s. 5d., compared with £199,147 7s. 6d. received the previous year, an increase of £8,807 lls. lid., or 4-42 per cent,
