No. 26. The Loan and Stock Agents to the Colonial Treasurer. Sir, — Westminster Chambers, 13, Victoria Street, London, S.W., 11th December, 1889. We have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd November, No. 1, and we desire to express our thanks to the Government for its generous terms. The anticipation mentioned in our letter of the 26th October, No. 1,306, that the new 3_-per-cents would soon improve in price, has been realised, as business was done yesterday in the scrip at 3^ premium (18f, 80 per cent, to be paid). Up to the present date the sum of £605,000 has been paid into the Public Account of the loan. As the deposit and first instalment amounted to £427,538 175., subscribers have paid up in full to the amount of about £220,000. We have, &c, P. G. Jueyan, F. D.
