upon the duties of the said office; and in case there shall be no such person then holding the said office, then you shall enter upon the duties thereof as soon as conveniently may be after your arrival as aforesaid, and in either of such cases this appointment shall take effect accordingly. And I do also require you to enter upon and discharge the duties of the said office in person, except only in case of sickness or other incapacity, and leave of absence first duly granted. Mr. Perceval's appointment as a Commissioneb under the Public Revenues Act. Onslow, Governor. In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the fifty-seventh section of " The Public Revenues Act, 1891," His Excellency William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint Westby Brook Perceval, of Westminster Chambers, Victoria Street, Westminster, in England, Esquire, the Agent-General of the said colony there, to be a Commissioner under the said Act, and who, together with Sir Penrose Goodchild Julyan and Walter Kennaway, Esquire, the other two Commissioners now in office under the said Act, shall have full power, as and in manner provided by the said Act, to do in Great Britain on behalf of the Governor everything which the Governor is empowered to do under the fifty-fifth and fifty-sixth sections of the said Act. Appointment of Sir P. G. Julyan and Mr. Perceval as Stock Agents. Onslow, Governor. In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by " The New Zealand Consolidated Stock Act, 1877," and "The New Zealand Consolidated Stock Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1881," His Excellency William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby appoint Sir Penrose Goodchild Julyan, of London, in England, a Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, and a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, and Westby Brook Perceval, of Westminster Chambers, Victoria Street, Westminster, in England, Esquire, the Agent-General of the said colony, there to be Agents for the purposes of "The New Zealand Consolidated Stock Act, 1877," and in that capacity to exercise all the powers by such Act exercisable by the Governor in Council, such appointment to take effect on and after the first day of April now next ensuing.
