Owing to the increasing demand for accommodation, the building has been extended, at a cost of £620. The additions give two new wards, a useful side-room, and a dining-room. The institution is in a very satisfactory condition. The nursing is careful and intelligent, and shows that good results have attended the systematic instruction which Dr. Kenny has made a feature of his work. I observe that there is a considerable increase in the cost per patient, consisting chiefly of an increase of £75 for rations, £39 more than last year expended on the surgery and dispensary, and £49 increase in the item of fuel and light.
