No. B.—Petition of Wiremu Kauika and Another. Petitioners pray that compensation may be granted for moneys said to have been embezzled by one William Williams in connection with the purchase of the Kaitangiwhenua Block. I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion this petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that their report of last Session, dated 9th October, 1894, on the same subject, be given effect to. 20th August, 1895.

No. 86.—Petition of Tutangi Waionui and 4 Others. Petitioners pray that the Public Trustee may be empowered to advance money to them on mortgage, under certain conditions. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 20th August, 1895.

No. 29.—Petition of Te Pueu Hawea and 84 Others. Petitionees pray that investigation be made into the ownership of certain lands in the Matata District —viz., Kokohinau, Lot 72, and Putauaki, Lot 59. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 21st August, 1895.
