I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court should be instructed to peruse the evidence relating to the case to see if the report furnished by him to the Committee is borne out thereby, and to take such steps as he may deem necessary. 27th August, 1895.

No. 45. —Petition of Te Eangi leunga Pieipi and 35 Others. Petitionees pray that land may be reserved for them near Waitotara. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend this petition should be referred to the Government for inquiry. 27th August, 1895.

No. 125. —Petition of Eaueeti Paebau Mokonuiaeangi and 65 Others. Petitioners pray that a medical practitioner may be appointed to attend the Natives and Europeans in the Eangitaiki and Whakatane Districts. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that a medical man be sent to inquire into the mortality which has been rife amongst the Natives of the districts mentioned, and report what steps should be taken to reduce the same. 27th August, 1895.

No. 185.—Petition of W. H. Taipabi and 11 Others. Petitionees allege that the agreement relating to the Thames Goldfield has been broken, and, in consequence, they are heavy losers. They pray for relief. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, and that effect should be given to the recommendation of the Goldfields and Mines Committee of last year on the same subject. sth September, 1895. •

No. 544, 1894.—Petition of Anaru Kahaki and Others. Petitionees pray that inquiry be set up in reference to Waioratane and Tarata Blocks, and that the latter may be returned to them. I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 11th September, 1895. . —
