POSTAGES ON AUSTRALASIAN AND FOREIGN CORRESPONDENCE (RETURN OF DETAILS RELATIVE TO).
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated Wednesday, the 31st August, 1898. Ordered, " That there be laid before the House a return showing separately, in parallel columns, the rates levied and the numbers carried for each year since 1888 of letters posted to beyond Australia; letters posted to Australia ; letters posted within towns in New Zealand to South Sea Islands ; letters posted inland to and beyond towns where posted in New Zealand: same information re letter-cards. Also, a return showing the number, rates, and revenue of letters posted beyond Australasia for a period of four years prior to the reduction to 2_d. per half-ounce to England ; and similar information for a like period since the reduction was effected." —(Hon.
