No. 181, 1898.—Petition of Bpanaia Whanga and 67 Others. Petitioners pray for rehearing in connection with the Tutu-o-te-Kaha No. 2 Block. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 23rd August, 1899.

Nos. 300 and 301.—Petitions of Ihaia te Awanui and 11 Others and M. T. Brueti and 9 Others. Petitioners pray that the Maoris may be deprived of the right to will away their lands. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that these petitions be referred to the Government for consideration, with others of like nature already reported on this session. 23rd August, 1899.

Petitioners pray that inquiry may be made as to the rightful successors of Te Hapa and Nikorima Tohetiti, who were non-sellers in the Whangawehi No. 2 Block, Te Mahia District, Hawke's Bay. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 24th August, 1899.

I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 25th August, 1899.
