No. 620, 1901.—Petition of Ecu Maki and 3 Others. Petitionees pray that Eahuiroa, a portion of the Whananaki Block, may be returned to them. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 17th July, 1902.

[Translation.] No. 620, 1901.—Pitihana a Beu Maki me etahi atu toko-toru. E inoi ana kia whakahokia atu ki a ratou a Eahuiroa, he wahi no Whananaki Poraka. Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, kite whakaaro o te Komiti me tuku atu tenei pitihana ki te Kawanatanga kia whiriwhiria paitia. 17 o Hurae, 1902.

No. 1213, 1901.—Petition of Beana Perukino and 3 Others. Petitionees pray for a readjustment of the partition of Waitakerei No. 1 Block. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 17th July, 1902. —

No. 793, 1901.—Petition of T. B. Ellison. Petitionee prays that legislation may be passed to enable him to appeal to the Supreme Court against the decisions of the Native Appellate Court in the case of the will of the late Katerina Hape, of Waikouaiti. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the petitioner should have an opportunity of taking his case to the Supreme Court, and therefore recommends that the Government introduce legislation to give effect to the prayer of the petition. 22nd July, 1902.

No. 1189, 1901.—Petition of Te Haenga Paeetipua. Petitionee alleges that the Bank of New Zealand has wrongfully taken possession of the eastern portion of the Matuku Block, and prays for redress. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for special inquiry at the earliest possible date. 23rd July, 1902.
