No. 1211, 1901.—Petition of Eangihaerepo te Wiremu and 15 Others. Petitioners pray for inquiry into alienation of land in the Hikutaia Block, Opotiki district, and for restoration of the same. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 23rd July, 1902.

No. 1150, 1901.—Petition of Teone Tikao Wira and 9 Others. Petitioners pray for rehearing in connection with Waituruatua Pa, Orakipaoa, No. 883, Native Eeserve. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 23rd July, 1902.

No. 91, 1900.—Petition of William Milnee, of Port Awanui, Waiapu County. Petitioner prays for recognition of his lease over a portion of the Waihuka Block, or for compensation in lieu thereof. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends this petition should be referred to the Government for inquiry. 29th July, 1902.

No. 1187, 1901.—Petition of Tipene Matua and 2 Others (No. 1). Petitionees pray for a rehearing in connection with the Manawaangiangi Block. I am directed, to report that the Committee finds the petitioners appear to have suffered a wrong through the judgment of the Courts, and therefore recommends that an opportunity should be given, by legislation, for a rehearing. 29th July, 1902.

I am directed to report that, as the prayer of this petition refers to a matter of policy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 6th August, 1902.
