No. 7. —Petition of Alfred C. Yahbokough and 66 Others, of Kohukohu, Hokianga. Petitioners pray for a grant of money to metal the main road to Kohukohu and for wharf purposes. No. 25.—Petition of John J. Carruthers and 151 Others, of Turanga Creek. Petitioners pray that provision be made for making two miles of road and constructing two bridges to connect the Turanga Creek and Maraetai districts with the main road to Auckland. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to Government for favourable consideration. 16th July, 1902.

No. 44. —Petition of Frederick W. Humphreys and 32 Others, of Avoca, Mangaru, Hobson County. Petitioners pray for two grants amounting to £1,600 to form and metal the roads in the Avoca Special Settlement. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petition be referred to Government for consideration. 16th July, 1902.
Nos. 99, 100, and 101. —Petitions of John A. L. Hall and Others, V. H. Beed and Others, of Kawakawa; and Albert Morgan and Others, of Buapekapeka. Petitioners pray that the Pakaraka Estate may be purchased for close settlement. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that the petitions be referred to Government for consideration. 29th July, 1902.
No. 124.—Petition of Ambrose Trust, Sen., and Others, of Turanga. Petitioners pray that Petition No. 25, presented on the 3rd instant, praying that provision be made for a road and bridges to connect Turanga Creek and Maraetai districts with main road to Auckland, may be thoroughly investigated. I am directed to report that, as the statements in each are of such a conflicting nature, the Committee recommends that this petition be also referred to Government in order that a report may be obtained from the officers of the Boad Department as to the best route to be adopted 29th July, 1902.
No. 108.-—Petition of Peter Edward Oheal, Surveyor, of Auckland. Petitioner prays for payment of moneys advanced and work done in connection with the survey of Native land known as Hangapapa Block, Mokau. I am directed to report that the Committee has come to the same conclusion as that arrived at last year (vide Petition No. 189) —viz., " That Mr. Cheal has no claim against the colony " 6th August, 1902, '"
