Science—Chemistry (Boscoe and Harden) ; electricity (Sylvanus Thompson); practical chemistry (Tilden). French—Fasnacht, Part 111. ; translations at sight. English— Nesfield's English Grammar; Nichol's English Composition ; Shakespeare's Henry V. ; Chaucer's Knight's Tale. 3. Scholarships. The Governors gave free tuition to nine scholars, and two senior and four junior district scholarships were also held at the school.
