Maori Councils Amendment Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to whom was referred the abovementioned Bill, has duly considered the same, and is of opinion it should be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments as shown on a cony of the Bill attached hereto. 10th November, 1903. *

Native Land Rating Bill. No. 728, 1903.—Petition of Tuta Nihoniho. Petitioner, on behalf of Ngai-Tangihaere Hapu, prays for rehearing in connection with ownership of the Ngamoe Block, Waiapu District. I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition should be referred to the Government for consideration. 18th November, 1903.

No. 718, 1903.—Petition of Hemana Pokiha and 34 Others. Petitioners oppose the Native Land Rating Bill. T am directed to report that, as this petition refers to a matter of policy, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th November, 1903.
